Spring 2020 Confirmation Postponement & Updates

(Updated April 29, 2020) We have dedicated a page on the Life Teen Fatima website to specifically follow the Spring 2020 Confirmation postponement. As we receive updates from the Archdiocese of Boston on safely rescheduling this event, we will post them on LifeTeenFatima.com/classof2022.

(Updated April 2, 2020) Thank you all for your patience as we consider an appropriate course of action for the Spring 2020 Confirmation. Today we received notification from the Archdiocese of Boston that the May 2 Confirmation Masses at St. Bridget Parish and Our Lady of Fatima Parish will be postponed, until we can do so safely. At this time, we have removed the events from our Parish calendars and will continue to evaluate as the current situation unfolds.

As we await further guidance from the Archdiocese, we want you to know that we are committed to celebrating these Sacraments with the joy and reverence that this milestone deserves. We understand that the Sacrament of Confirmation requires a lot of coordination with their sponsors, family travel and celebrations. As the Sacrament is administered by a Bishop, there is additional coordination at the parish level as well. Between the 283 parishes across the Archdiocese of Boston, scheduling Confirmations is normally a bulky task. The inclusion of recent postponements and the ongoing health concerns make the process even more challenging.

We will be quick to deliver information and updates as soon as we receive them to facilitate planning. We will also be creative and flexible moving forward, ensuring that our candidates and their families have impactful celebrations that are mindful of the constant changes in these uncertain times.

Thank you to all that have been reaching out to check in on what is next with Confirmation. Please keep this sentiment going and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and concerns. We will continue to make materials available online and host virtual social events online for our teens. The spiritual development of our teens was the number one focus of this program on day one, and nothing has changed about that. While our scenery and daily routines have changed a bit, the mission of Life Teen will continue on.
